CPG Europe in Sweden has delivered materials for walls and floors in a brand new restaurant for McDonalds, in Gothenburg.
The restaurant's kitchen and washroom needed a non-slip floor with quick installation and the choice fell on CPG Europe's brands Vandex and Flowcrete.
The quick-curing Vandex Cemrep 202 mortar was used to build up the floor in the kitchen and dishwashing room. Vandex Rapid XL is specially designed to withstand loads already one hour after application.
This quick-curing mill, was used to build up floors and walls in the kitchen and dishwashing room.
On the floor of kitchens and dishwashing rooms, Flowcrete's Peran STB Struktur was applied, a sand coating of two-component epoxy and polyurethane-colored sand with a thickness of 3–4 mm. This flooring solution is often chosen due to its high anti-slip protection, an important factor in environments where there may be water or dropped food debris on the floor.
Flowcrete RT, a polyurethane-based four-component system for floor covering, was used in the counter space. The product, which is specially developed for use in the food industry on surfaces exposed to hot water and steam washing, was perfect for the dishwashing room where kitchen equipment is likely to be rinsed and cleaned several times a day.
In addition to the high slip resistance, restaurant owners could also rely on chemical cleaners and hot water not to damage the floor covering, thanks to Flowcrete RT's high chemical and thermal resistance.
The assembly took two weeks to complete, which meant that the total construction time of 17 weeks for the entire building could be met. Thanks to the success of meeting customer requirements and successfully installing products and systems, CPG Europe is now looking forward to providing more fast food restaurants with different design solutions, and more projects are already planned.
